Granny's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
*Cream Together:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
*Blend in
- 1 large egg
*Sift together and add to mixture:
- 2-2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Divide dough in two parts. Chill 1 - 2 hours so
it will be easy to handle. Roll dough, one part
at a time, to 1/8 in thickness and cut with
cutters. Keep other part chilled until ready.
Cook in preheated oven(375) 8-10 min. Frost.
Makes about 2 doz cutout cookies.
Frosting: Blend together: 1 cup confection
sugar & 5-6 tsp. water. Add color if
desired...brush on while cookies are warm.
