Lemon Bread

Ingredients
- 1/2 C. Crisco Topping: juice of 1 lemon
- 1 C. Sugar 1/4 C. sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 2/3C. Flour
- 1/2 C. Milk
- 1/2 t. Salt
- 1/2 C. Pecans/chopped
- 1 t. Baking Powder
- Grated peel of 1 lemon

Directions
Cream Crisco w/sugar; add eggs; sift flour
w/baking powder & salt; add to shortening mixture
alternately with milk. Mix in nuts & lemon peel.
Bake in greased pan 40 min. at 350. Will make one
5x9 pan or 2 smal 3x7 pans.
Topping: Combine juice & sugar; stir often
while bread is cooking. Pour over top of loaves when
it comes from oven and very hot.
